Fantasy Football is back!!!

It’s that time of year again!

Football is back and that means the start of our second annual Epiphany Life Teen Fantasy Football League!

Whether you are a football geek, a Monday morning QB, or still think that football is soccer… this league is for you! Competing for 1st place is only a small highlight to our league. The true highlight comes during our fellowship created during the fantasy draft.

This year’s draft will be held on Wednesday September first at 6pm. Pizza will be provided for dinner. Whether you want to be in the league or just want to come and hang out you are more than welcome to join us.

If you are only coming to hang out and will not be drafting, please RSVP so I can account you in the pizza order.

So what is fantasy football and how do you play?
The beautiful thing about fantasy football is that you don’t have to have any athletic ability what so ever! All you need to do is select players from the NFL and then they do all the work for you! Don’t know who is good and who is bad? Don’t worry! You’ll be provided with a list of players and their rankings! It’s drafting made easy!

How to sign up:
1. Be sure that you have a yahoo.com account
2. Follow this link
3. Click on “Join Custom”
4. Type in the league ID# 500016 and the league password “lifeteen”
5. Follow the prompts to create your own team!

If you would like to join the league but you are unable to make the draft you must send me a list of players in the order you would like them drafted or better yet a list of positions in the order you would like them drafted. The best player from your list or best player at that position available will be selected for you at the draft.

Don’t miss out! Sign up soon!

Mark 9: 23-24: New blog is up!

“I do believe! Help my unbelief!”

This is one of my favorite Bible verses. I pray this prayer all the time! Do you?

How often do we find ourselves in church wondering what the heck we’re doing there? Is it because my parents make me go? Because of the cute girl sitting two rows in front? Why?

Do I believe what I’m saying at Mass? Do I believe what I’m seeing? Most of us believe something, if not it all, or we wouldn’t be there. If we do struggle with belief there is probably a part of us that wishes we didn’t have that struggle. Its a pretty common thing.

That’s the beauty of this prayer. Lord! I do believe… but I’m not where I want to be… help me! Help my unbelief!

There is power in these words!

If you’re struggling with your faith I encourage you not to give up. Turn to Jesus, even if its only a small turn, turn anyway and ask Him for help.

It may not come in the form you expect it… but He will help your unbelief.

Keep pushing forward.

God bless,

Jim

Testimonies are up under "Jim's Blog". Don't forget to check out our camp pictures under "photos". More will be coming soon!

Here are the full testimonies from the 5 teens who came to camp this summer.

Personally, I had an amazing weekend, and as you’ll see so did the teens. I hope we’ll be able to bring more next year. But for now, I’m looking forward to watching these 5 be “agents of change”.

(Agents of Change was one of the themes for a week long camp- the camp encouraged the teens and chaperons to go back to their homes and bring Christ with them. To allow Him to work in their lives, and others’ lives through them.)

Adam Przybylski:
“This camp was so amazing!!!!!!!!! I had a wonderful experience down in Georgia that has changed my life forever. I was able to white water raft, hike to a waterfall, get as dirty as possible, and grow even closer to God. This camp has opened my eyes and my heart to so many possibilities. I made new friends from my church and other churches around the community. I feel so lucky that I was able to go to this awesome camp. I thank Jim, our youth minister, Katrina, one of the many core members, and Father John for taking us thirteen hours away from our home to have a life changing experience. I know for a fact that all of us are now agents of change.”

Lindsay Gleason
“My week at Covecrest was the best week of my life so far and I hope to have many more like it! During this camp we got to experience tons of fun and exciting activities like white water rafting, high and low rope courses, and muddy obstacle courses. Although there were many activities like that, we also had tons of better and more exciting experiences dealing with our spiritual lives. We had daily Mass, Adoration, and morning prayer which were all amazing. We had a lot of time to work on our trust in God and others during talks or activities. We even had a chance to go to confession which by all means was my favorite part including the praise and worship songs. Before, during, and after confession I had a total epiphany. I for the first time in my life felt God’s presence with me in and after the confession and felt cleansed afterward! It was the most amazing feeling that no one could ever take away from me. Also the praise and worship songs we sang were awesome! Everyone had a chance to show JGod how much we cared for Him and loved Him and no one felt scared to put their hands in the air and ask for God’s presence with them. Over all I had a great time at camp! I will never for get this and I can’t wait to share my experience with everyone I come in contact with to become an Agent of change!”

Jacob Poston
“My week at Life Teen Camp Covecrest was incredible. I have never had God speak to me in so many ways which really helped me grow in my faith. The feeling I had at camp was amazing. It was a feeling of peace, joy, excitement, and really feeling like God was working through me and the people around me. Also this week really opened my eyes to the importance of Mary and how much she can help if you just ask. The week wasn’t just praise and worship; we got to do a lot of fun stuff like high and low ropes courses and white water rafting. But to tell you the truth the most fun part was the praise and worship because of the amazing feeling you got during it. None of the excitement during the games we did could even compare to it. Another thing I got out of the camp was a love for Adoration and morning prayer. During the camp we had morning prayer and Adoration every morning which is just a great way to start your day with God and invite Him to really speak to you through out the day. I really learned to be an Agent of Change and help others and myself with faith. If your a teen in the parish I invite you to come to Life Teen so that you can have the same experience that I have had through the camp and Life Teen in general.”

Alyssa Ried
“My week at Lifeteen covecest camp was simply amazing. It was definitely an eye-opening week. It helped me alot with my prayer life and taught me more of the importance of our mother Mary. We got the chance for many new experiences such as white water rafting, high rope courses, and low rope courses. Camp wasn’t all new activities though, we also had daily Mass, Adoration and praise and worship music. Friday night, our last night there, was definitely my favorite. We had Adoration that night and it really touched my heart and I could hear God talking to me through my prayers. God didn’t just touch my heart that night but everyone there, so many people were crying for their faith. It was awesome. The week went by so fast when it came time to leave I couldn’t believe we had already been gone a week and had to head home. I had so much fun and encourage any teens who want to grow closer to God and get deeper into their faith to join Lifeteen, which will give you many opportunities just like Covecrest camp.”

Kim Knoblauch
“Covecrest camp was an amazing experience for me. It brought me so much closer to God. The talks given were so inspirational and moving. We had the opportunity for Mass and Adoration everyday! My spirtual life was changed greatly by attending Adoration every morning. It was just an awesome way to start the day. We also did many fun things like playing in a pool of mud, sliding down a giant waterslide, and so much more! I made so many friendships at this camp that will last for a lifetime because they are centered around God. Overall, this camp was an amazing, life-changing week.”
