Welcome to the new Life Teen section of the bulletin! Here you’ll find our music for Mass, announcements, and a few words each week by me, your Life Teen youth minister! You can also find my message and all these announcements on our website: www.epiphanylifeteen.com. This new section coincides with the kickoff of our new semester! We’re really hoping to get some new teens involved and hope if you’re reading this and never have come to Life Teen before that you might give us a chance. I think you’ll be happy with what you find! In fact, for the next few weeks we’ll be offering some great prizes for anyone new who comes to Life Teen. That means if you’re the only new person at Life Teen that week you’re guaranteed a prize! Not only that, but each week you come will get your name in an additional raffle we’ll be having at our Super Bowl party on February 6th! Come 4 weeks in a row and your name will be in the raffle 4 times! Pretty amazing!
I’d also like to appeal to all our parents out there. It wouldn’t be the first time I heard a kid tell me, “I’m here because my parents made me come” only to have the teen turn out to not only be one of our regulars but actively involved! As parents you have tremendous influences over your children. A lesson I am learning quickly as a new parent myself. Often I catch my son Bob making faces or doing things that I know he picked up from me. Many of these things make me laugh, but there are some my wife and I know we need to nip in the butt quickly. Our influence on him amazes me each day. You have the same kind of influence on your teens. You may not think they’re listening, but on some level, some way or another, they are. So please, encourage your teen to join us on Sunday afternoons as we kick off a new semester!
